Kalimantan Tour, 4 Days / 3 Nights

Borneo houseboatDay 1: Arrival – Balikpapan – Samarinda – Mahakam River

Upon arrival at Balikpapan airport you will be met and escorted to your transfer by bus to Loa Janan, where you will board your houseboat for exciting adventure on Mahakam River. On the way you will see beautiful scenery all around you as you drive alongside the Mahakam River. Overnight on the houseboat.

Day 2: Muara Muntai – Tanjung Isuy-Mancong

After breakfast you will be transported to Muara Muntai for sightseeing before crossing Lake Jempang to Tanjung Isuy and Mancong by motorised canoe. On the way you will see the beautiful virgin scenery of Ohong’s creek where you may see Bekantan (a rare species of monkey) and birds, before returning to Muara Muntai and continuing down to Mahakam river to Tenggarong where you will overnight in a houseboat.

Borneo canoeDay 3: Tenggarong – Samarinda

After breakfast you will visit the former palace of Sultan Kutai Kartanegara where you will see the Sultans impressive collection of heirlooms, ceramics, Dayaks art and cultural items in the museum. Afterwards you will return to the houseboat for the trip to Samarinda where you will check in to your hotel.

Day 4: Samarinda – Departure

After breakfast you are free at leisure until you are collected for your transfer to the airport.
