This tour covers three world heritage sites – The Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and Barkor Street. You can visit the Dalai Lama’s summer palace, Tibet’s largest and highest man-made garden in Norbu Lingkha Palace, the Tibet Museum where you discover the historic development of Tibetan Culture, and enjoy the Monks debate on the Buddhist doctrines in the Sera monastery.
Day 1 – Arrive in Lhasa by plane or train
You will receive a warm welcome to Tibet by saying Tashi Delek at the Train station / airport by our professional guide who will take you to your hotel in Lhasa where you should relax for the afternoon to acclimatize the high altitude. Overnight in Lhasa at Canggyan Hotel (or similar).
Day 2 – Lhasa Sightseeing
Potala Palace / Jokhang Temple / Barkhor Street
After breakfast in your hotel you will be taken to visit the famous Potala palace and explore the grandest of this myriad of chapels.
In the afternoon we will visit the holiest temples in Tibet, the Johkang Temple, and at Barkor Kora, which is the most famous Kora in Tibet and where you can buy Tibetan traditional or religious souvenirs. Dinner and overnight in Lhasa at Canggyan Hotel (or similar).
Day 3 – Lhasa Sightseeing
Drepung Monastery / Sera Monastery
After breakfast in your hotel you will be taken to visit two important monasteries in Lhasa, the Drepung and the Sera. If we are very lucky, we may even come across the Sera Monastery’s Monks debating, held in the courtyard at around 3;00-5:30 in the afternoon. Overnight in Lhasa at Canggyan Hotel (or similar).
Day 4 – Lhasa airport
After breakfast in your hotel your tour guide / driver will take you to Lhasa airport.
