Lombok is an Indonesian island east of Bali and west of Sumbawa, part of the Lesser Sunda Island chain.

It’s known for beaches and surfing spots, particularly at Kuta and Banko Banko (in south Lombok).

The motor-vehicle-free Gili Islands (Gili Trawangan, Gili Air and Gili Meno), off Lombok’s west coast, offer more beaches, reefs for diving and snorkeling, and a sea turtle hatchery.

Travelserv are the sole UK agent for a licensed Indonesian tour operator, so we can suggest some local tours which you may not find advertised elsewhere:

  • Benang Stokel Waterfall: natural beauty of a 20m waterfall of water flowing from the river upstream on Mount Rinjani.
  • Benang Kelambu: Fresh, cold-water flows from the fountain through the plants making a frame that looks like a curtain.
  • Lombok Wildlife Park: The First Wildlife Sanctuary in Lombok, where we recommend the VIP tour with lunch which includes animal interaction.
  • Pink Beaches: visit two of the twelve pink sand beaches in the world.
  • Sade Village: Traditional Village in Sasak, where you will explore the traditional houses and lifestyle of the Sasak People.
  • Village Markets: pick up some real bargains at the weekly markets around the island
